The Compasses is situated 6 miles south of Ipswich on the B1080.

From Ipswich head for Shotley on the B1456. At the Freston Tower fork right (indicated by our brown sign) on to the B1080, a three minute drive will lead you to Holbrook where The Compasses is clearly visible on the right of the main road.
